Game Description

It has been over ten years since the first game in the Command and Conquer series first hit the shelves, and to celebrate its tenth anniversary, Electronic Arts is releasing a compilation of all the games in the series. What does this mean for gamers? A lot of PC gaming is to be had. Command and Conquer: The First Decade, a very fitting title for the occasion, is the title gamers everywhere should be hitting the shelves for.

Command and Conquer: The First Decade

The entire Command and Conquer series is compiled into one game so gamers can play through the entire series. This allows gamers to see how the gameplay, graphics and company itself has evolved over the years. The title also features a DVD that gamers won’t want to miss. The series started way back in the year 1995, has produced many hits throughout its lifespan, and is sure to produce many more in the following decade. Titles that are included in this compilation are Command and Conquer, Command and Conquer: The Covert Operations, Command and Conquer: Red Alert, Command and Conquer: Red Alert The Aftermath, Command and Conquer: Red Alert Counter Strike, Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun, Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun Firestorm, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2, Command and Conquer: Yuri’s Revenge, Command and Conquer: Renegade, Command and Conquer: Generals, and Command and Conquer: Generals Zero Hour.

The series that set the stage for strategy gaming is releasing one of the biggest compilations of all time. Altogether, twelve titles are condensed into one tiny package that is sure to pack a huge punch. With all of the content and gameplay that is available for exploration, the package is sure to keep fans occupied for days on end.

The DVD covers everything that has happened during the ten years of development and includes videos, audio, and a lot of behind the scenes stuff that gamers won’t want to miss. The DVD features a little under an hour of content, but still packs tons of information about the game, how it grew and developed and information about its fan base.

Command and Conquer: The First Decade Graphics

Since the title covers twelve games over a course of ten years, it is very hard to describe the graphics. However, the graphics do look amazing for the time periods of which they were released. While gamers play throughout the entire series, they will get to see how the graphics have evolved, and what the developers have done over time to make the graphics pull the gamer deep into the gameplay.

Command and Conquer: The First Decade Audio

The titles in the Command and Conquer series all feature great sound effects and music. For the times that the earlier games in the series were released, they sound kind of fake, but that was the norm for that period. As the games progressed, so did the sound effects and music.

Command and Conquer: The First Decade - Verdict

For the gamers that have never played a Command and Conquer game, they should definitely pick this one up. It has everything that a strategy game lover would ever want, and lot’s of it to boot.

A great buy at $39.99.
