Opinions on the "Apprentice" show are generally scattered. Some might consider this series entertaining, others might just consider it a way for Donald Trump to cast the spotlights on himself just a bit longer. However, the prospect for making a game out of the series isn't really all that bad an affair. A tycoon-like game could really benefit from Donald's gazzillionare image, and considering it would have been entertaining, the game could have been made a major hit.
But as this game stands ... all we can say is: "Donald, you're fired!"
If you're looking for any fun, I'd suggest finding something clearly more entertaining like watching grass grow or something. If this game is good for anything, I'd recommend it to people with a severe case of insomnia. No need for medication, just grab this game and you'll fall asleep in no time.
The game begins by allowing you to choose your gender, though, it hardly matters as all you get for your troubles is a silhouette and then you can choose your team’s name consisting of four other previous contenders of The Apprentice.
This game, sadly, consists of a series of mini-games. Well, that wouldn't necessarily be that bad, as some mini-games are really cool. But these are horrid, and you're clearly better off playing on your mobile phone, as that will surely give you a far more enjoyable gaming experience.
These games have nothing to do with the TV show, there are five of them, all resembling a great similarity with what you can find anywhere on the web for free. There's a "Dope Wars" sort of mini-game, where you run around selling and buying stuff, hoping to make as much money as you can, a matching game, a tile game and another game where you must assemble food orders for customers.
While all that would be cool if this game were about applying to McDonald's, The Apprentice should have been far superior to what the game actually is. There's an extra game, if you fail any of the other games (which, by the way is incredibly hard to do thanks to this game's so called difficulty) you get to go to a board room and face off Donald Trump.
What you basically have to do is take the letters from a question he asks you and construct a financial term from those letters. Well, that should clearly prove that you are far too well qualified to be fired. Go figure...
Other then being outright annoyingly simple, the game is also far too short. An average player will finish it in 15 minutes. If you give it your best shot, you can probably do it in less then five. How's that for a gaming experience?
The game's graphics are a delight only if you really hate Donald Trump from the bottom of your heart. The characters are portrayed in a 2-dimensional comic fashion that even a five-year old would find too simplistic and what’s more, you don’t even have a face.
While Donald Trump appears to have recorded some of the audio behind the game, that is still not enough to give The Apprentice any positive notice in this regard. There is a lot of repetition. Moreover, it may not even be his voice. The lame music which just vaguely mimics that of the TV series makes you wish you were deaf.
It's hard to believe that any adult can find any worthwhile experience in this game, because of its utter simplicity, weak graphics and sounds, and the lack of any connection between the actual game and its license. On the whole The Apprentice is a thoroughly disappointing game.
The game can be entertaining for children though, albeit the price tag is far too high for that, as you can find similar content on-line, free of charge. So it is a game you’d be better off avoiding. It’s not worth your time or money.
The Apprentice is currently available for a ridiculously high price of $15.99, considering you can play much better versions of these games online for free.
