Rising Force Online is an online multiplayer game that’s different from a lot of online multiplayer games due to the feature that you fight as a united race. You have a choice from three different races; the Bellatos, the Corites and the Accretians. Each of the three races is different as they possess different types of skills. The Bellatros are a robotlike race which specializes in melee combat. The Corites are an elf like race that have magical abilities. The Accretians are a childlike race which specializes in engineering. Your race must unite and destroy the opposition. RF online features great online gameplay at any time of the day.
Are you an online gamer? Do you want to be? Either way this game is excellent as it features everything you’d want from an online game. At first I will mention the chip wars which are scheduled every eight hours.
In Rising Force Online there is a monster that can never be killed called the Holystone Keeper. Most of the gameplay revolves around the Holystone Keeper. The Holystone Keeper lives in the core of the mine and will kill anyone who tries to approach the core. The chip wars allow opposing races to gather all their units and destroy their enemy’s chip tower. The race that is the first to destroy the chip tower befriends the Holystone Keeper and is allowed to harvest as much materials that they can harvest in the time limit that is dependent on the health of their own chip tower.
There is also a way to have access to the mine for longer periods of time. This can be done by the last player who hits the tower before it is destroyed. If the player is successful in getting the chip to the core of the mine his/her race will get the ultimate advantage over overt other races; they will get to harvest for resources in the mine core for seven whole hours under the Holystone Keepers protection.
The chip wars affect the normal gameplay directly and can be considered as the main aspect of the game.
Most of the gameplay revolves around your skill level. You will start on zero (obviously) will have to move through the skill levels through the PvE mode. You can start with any one as a warrior, spiritualist, ranger or a specialist and build upon the characters skills. You cannot play the PvP mode before you reach a level 25 and even then you will be considerably weaker than your opposition and you will die more often as well. You will encounter some members of the other races during your quest and you can kill them (you can also set out searching for them; it improves your contribution points whenever you kill a member of another faction).
During the PvE games you will face different kinds of monsters (giant insect types and others) which you will become familiar with in the process of leveling your attributes. Upon getting your units at an attribute level 30 your unit will acquire a special ability. For the Bellatros you can convert your units into large tanks, for the Corites you will be able to summon mysterious creatures and for the Accretions you will be able to deploy huge guns.
The factions will all follow a similar quest to upgrade their attributes (the PvE mode). The quest mode will only serve as the purpose of practice in order to upgrade your weapons because there is not much to them. It greatly lacks plot and storyline and even though you have to capture 20 monsters for some scientific experiment in the beginning of the game that’s still not enough to go on. RF Online instead concentrates on the gameplay part and providing an first-rate online experience (as far as that’s concerned it is pretty successful).
The economy also depends on the chip wars and even though the other races will get to harvest from the mine when a particular faction has control. The game also has a very interesting economic system as the time between the chip wars the races will take their time in harvesting in the mine. The basic (universal) currency in this game is gold and unlike other games them more gold you posses the higher tax you have to pay.
Alas, there are some things in RF Online that we would rather not have such as the time frame given to the players between every attack to chug up health potions. This reduces the competition greatly and because the health potions are cheap it takes the fun out of the game. Some people may also object that there is only one “playground” for the game when other games in the genre feature multiple locales.
Also there needs to be an effective way to transport your units from one point to another because there are huge spaces that need to be crossed and your units have to walk across. You can choose to run but once your stamina is finished you will have to continue in a very slow paced walk. The background environments aren’t very detailed and at times only seem as a blur.
They aren’t very supporting of groups either as when you pursue the quest mode with friends your level will increase a lot slower than it would if you did it again.
Rising Force Online is for hardcore fans of online games and novice gamers as well. The music consists of fast electronic beats and for the most part stays true to the game. The graphics are good as the objects and character models look great but due to the flat surface the backgrounds tend to get boring. This game is definitely worth the buy for interested gamers and will provide fun gameplay for all gamers.
You can buy the game for $ 49.99 and the first month is free. After that you will have to pay $ 15.00 per month.
Video game information minus the fat.
