Game Description

It has been nearly thirty years since the first Star Wars movie was released. During this period the Star Wars franchise has become one of the most lucrative properties the world over. In addition to blockbuster films, the Star Wars franchise now includes a plethora of related products, including the latest video game, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. By playing the game you can experience true Jedi combat and action in a well crafted and designed adventure game…or so is said by the developers.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Gameplay

Revenge of the Sith represents the third game put out by Ubisoft tracking the latest Star Wars trilogy. The video game holds true to the screenplay of the motion picture of the same name. The Jedi in the game face the same threat of annihilation that movie goers see on the big screen. Through valiant battle, cast as one of two of the greatest Jedi of all time, you can end up conquering the enemies of The Force…at last.

You play Revenge of Sith as Anakin Skywalker, or as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Unique to the game is the manner in which these two characters use their respective weapons differently. For example, each of these protagonists uses his Lightsaber in a different manner and fashion than does the other -- making for interesting and varied gameplay.

There are some aspects of the game that seem fairly mundane and commonplace. In other words, as you progresses from one level to the next in the game, there are no true surprises. Any experienced gamer likely will walk way from Revenge of the Sith thinking (at least to some degree) “I knew that was coming.”

Despite the fact that a great deal of the mono-version of the game is predictable, there do remain some interesting circumstances that make for challenging game playing…including many of the combat scenes a solo player faces.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Multiplayer Gameplay

The multi player option adds a whole different dimension to the game. It injects an element of excitement and suspense that is not necessarily present in the solo version of Revenge of the Sith.

The space combat sequences of Revenge of the Sith are particularly solid and exciting in the multi player mode. You will find yourself combating three other looming spaceships at one time. While the single player mode space combat seems are a bit less than stellar, Revenge of the Sith makes up for any lag in that mode in the multi player sequences.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Visuals and Graphics

The visuals and graphics associated with Revenge of the Sith are decently designed. On some levels, the visuals and graphics are rather basic and not particularly spectacular. Indeed, with all of the hype associated with the Star Wars films, there is an honest expectation on the part of gamers that the video game visuals and graphics would be particularly spectacular…not to be this time round though.

The visuals and graphics (and the pace of the game) are at their lowest ebb in single player mode. However, when the game is shifted for multi player participation, the speed and the graphics are enlivened.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Sound Quality

The overall game sound quality is solid. A fan of the Star Wars motion pictures readily will recognize the sound effects utilized in the video game version. On balance, the sound effects lend an air of believability to the gaming situations.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith – A Final Word

Overall, despite its less than thrilling visual graphics, Revenge of the Sith is worth a look and a play. Nonetheless, despite some noted shortcomings in the solo mode of Revenge of the Sith, the gaming associated with the product is interesting and challenging on a number of levels.

Revenge of Sith shines in the multiplayer game, which in itself lends most games the replay value lacking otherwise…same goes for this exploit of Star Wars.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith – Game Cost

Revenge of the Sith for Xbox currently retails for $49.99US at the time of writing.
